The Anglican Communion Institute is sponsoring the development of an adult education DVD series, entitled “Anglicanism – A Gift in Christ”. The topics to be addressed are Old Testament, New Testament, Biblical Interpretation, Christian Ethics, Anglicanism and Renewal, Anglican Hymnody, Conciliarism and Anglican Identity, Being a Christian in a Muslim Context, Anglican Worship, and kindred themes.
Two conferences will be the occasion for the production of the series. The first takes place at St Paul’s Anglican Church, Toronto, 25-27 November 2008. The second will be held at St Martin’s Episcopal Church, Houston, Texas. Our speakers include Bishop Tom Wright, Archbishop Josiah Idowu-Fearon, Edith Humphrey, George Sumner, Christopher Seitz, Ephraim Radner, Jo Bailey Wells, Philip Turner and others. The former Archbishop of Canterbury, George Carey, will be the Chaplain for the Houston conference, to be held the week after Easter 2009.
If you would like to inquire about purchasing the Toronto series, or pre-ordering the Houston talks, please contact Sarah.Peake@wycliffe.utoronto.ca. The full series will include 14 talks, and panel questions intended to draw out the wider implications of the talk for adult education, discussion, and reflection. Each presentation will be approximately 50 minutes in length with panel engagement.
